I've never been hypnotised before. What does it feel like?

Well it is impossible to predict just how each individual will experience hypnosis.  Generally it is a very relaxing and pleasant experience whereby your body is totally relaxed but your mind is quite alert and active. It can be compared to day dreaming or simply getting lost in thought

I'm scared that I'll be out of control or say or do something stupid

This is a common concern people have at first. You are in fact always in control even in the deepest trance and you will not say or do anything that you wouldn't normally say or do. It is most often me doing all the talking so all you have to do is relax!

   Can everyone be hypnotised?

Almost anyone can be hypnotised although the degree of suggestibility varies between individuals.  You cannot be hypnotised against your will and provided you have trust in your therapist, an open mind and a desire for change therapy can be successful.

Are there any side effects or dangers of hypnosis?

For most people hypnotherapy is a very safe treatment.  Occasionally clients feel a little disorientated upon awakening but a few minutes further rest is all it takes to restore normal consciousness. People suffering from severe mental illness should not be hypnotised and special precautions should be taken with those with epilepsy.  It may also be inappropriate for individuals with learning disabilities as one is required to maintain a level of concentration.

Is it Possible to get "Stuck" in hypnosis?

No. Again a common concern is that you'll be stuck in trance. This is actually impossible and upon instruction from your therapist you will awaken to normal awareness. Very rarely a client has not woken upon this instruction and these individuals reported that they wanted to remain under hypnosis as it was so relaxing! When left to their own devices, these clients emerged from trance themselves just a few minutes later.

How many Sessions do I need?

That depends on which treatment you want. Smoking Cessation can be done with just 1 session whereas Weight Loss is more effective over 2 or even 3 sessions.  Most issues can be successfully dealt with in just 1 or 2 sessions but often people return for a different treatment once they have seen the benefits that hypnotherapy can give them. It is my aim to treat clients in as few sessions as possible.

   Are Treatments Guaranteed to Work?

Not in the sense of a money back guarantee. This would be impractical and unethical.  The success of hypnosis depends upon many factors, one of which is the client's motivation and commitment.  What is guaranteed is that I will provide the very best service in terms of skills, knowledge and experience tailored to your individual needs and desired outcomes.

How do I book an appointment?

You can e mail or ring me if you want to make an appointment or if you simply want more information.  Appointments are offered on a flexible basis at a time that's suitable, including weekends and evenings.

How much does a Session cost?

Smoking Cessation Sessions are charged at £85.  All other treatments cost £55 for the initial session and £35 for subsequent sessions. This includes a free consultation and back up support.
